Deep abdominal breathing can promote relaxation to uterine muscles which will help to reduce period pain.To practice this, simply lie down on your back, bent your knees and bring closer to your bottom and keep your palms on your abdomen,inhale slowly through your nose allowing your stomach to expand,exhale slowly through your mouth.Repeat this for 15 minutes focusing on your breath allowing your body to relax.

Rather than using anti spasmodics u should try this2 -3 days before your periods.This not only help you in releaving period pain but it also helps to clear your period flow due to its vaatashamak properties.Take 1 glass of water and add 1 tsf fennel seeds,1tsfajwain (carom seeds),10 gm jaggery and little bit of ginger.Boil this to ½ glass and sip this twice a day. 4. CASTOR OIL APPLICATION

Applying castor oil on your lower abdomen can help reducing inflammation and relieve your period pain.To use castor oil,warm it slightly and massage gently over your lower abdomen for 5 minutes.Keeping hot water bag on abdomen after castor oil massage could be more helpful.

5. YOG ASAN

Some yoga postures can effectively relieve period cramps and other period symptoms.the most effective from one of that pose is suptabhadrasan.For this , lie on your back with knees bent,take your knees apart and join your sole.This can help to stetch your inner thigh,groin and hips which increases blood flow to the lower abdomen by which reducing period pain and discomfort.
